Key Features:

  • DDR5 offers a 50% increase in bandwidth over DDR4, debuting at 4800MT/s* and planned to scale up to 6400MT/s in sync with new compute platform releases.
  • Consumes about 20% less power than DDR4 at 1.1V, making it more power-efficient for both laptops and enterprise servers.
  • DDR5 modules have on-board PMICs that regulate power for memory components such as DRAM, Register, and SPD hub. For server modules, the PMIC uses 12V, and for PC modules, it uses 5V, resulting in improved power distribution, signal integrity, and noise reduction compared to previous generations.
  • It uses a new device that combines the SPD EEPROM with hub features, which manages external controller access and separates memory load from the internal bus, improving performance.
